Ryan Christenson

Ryan is on board as Field Outreach Minister to partner with pastors, leaders, and churches to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  Like coaching, he will offer encouragement, strategy, and resources to help you do God’s work in your local communities.  Ryan has a passion for helping churches offer Jesus to people outside the church that long for God’s hope.

Ryan is married to Kristi, and they have two children, Olivia and Jack.  They call the north side of Sioux City home.  Ryan came on board as FOM full time beginning July 1, 2015.

Ryan received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and his MDiv from The Divinity School at Duke University.  He completed the Iowa Annual Conference’s Graduate Academy for New Ministry with a focus on church revitalization and participated in the Young Pastors Network hosted by Adam Hamilton and Mike Slaughter.

In his time in Iowa, Ryan served churches in Webster City and Sioux City.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys tackling the endless list of repairs that come as being a homeowner.

Ryan scores as a DI (“change the world”) on the DiSC inventory.  With the Strength Finder, Ryan identifies his highest strengths are achiever, focus, strategize, learner, and command.

If Ryan had to pick a single passage that guides his life and ministry, it would be Luke 15:1-3, the words that come immediately before the parables of the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the lost son.
